Gorillaz Rhinestone Eyes Plastic Beach Wireframe
Hey avid blog readers! here is a little update on the progress of my Plastic Beach model. I was using this model purely as reference for composing shots in the beginning, but I have to complete it to production standards by the end for use in moving camera shots, such as the planes attack runs on the Island. I am being pulled in several directions at the moment but I will try to update more images and behind the scenes tidbits when I can! thanks for tuning in Gorillaz fans!

Excelent, very good a salways
ReplyDeleteThanks Ramon!
ReplyDeleteDo you work directly on top of the official storyboard? Or did you draw your own with the original as reference?
ReplyDeleteI know you are busy and have no concrete plans for when this will be done, but when do you hope to finish?
well I compose my shots using the actual storyboards yeah, but when things don't quite line up, I make adjustments where they are needed. I was hoping to have this bad boy out by christmas, but that is asking a lot....we will see though.
DeleteOh, is it a gift for someone? Or a gift to every Gorillaz fan in the universe?
ReplyDeletethis video is a gift to every fan out there like me, who has been inspired by the music and visualizations of the Gorillaz for over a decade :) I hope you all will enjoy it and hopefully not eviscerate me in the comments too badly lol.
DeleteYAY I'm so excited! :D That looks really brilliant, is that the Blender application?
ReplyDeleteI use Maya for all my 3D elements :)
DeleteI'm so excited! You're amazing!!! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks! I wish I had time to devote only to this project, if only I were getting my bills paid off of it, it would be done by now.

ReplyDeleteHi, Richard! This is Frameslinger. I was reading through the comments in all the posts in this blog and was surprised to find that you actually heard about my project before I heard about you. How did you hear of it? What snippets did you see online back then? Was it what I worked on in the livestream?
ReplyDeleteI like your 3D plastic beach, very cool. I have been teaching myself Blender so I can use 3D backgrounds as well. A little frustrating but already I can see it's worth it.
Sup Martin! yeah I heard about your stuff a little bit before you contacted me actually, I was just googling around to make sure no one else was doing what I was going to attempt. Would suck to have to put all that work in only to have someone beat me to the punch, and hence I found your video :) and yeah knowing at least some 3D is soooo helpful, it opens a lot of doors as far as the choices you can make creatively. How is your video coming along anyway?
DeleteGoing well. I'd compare my progress to yours but you don't share enough. Was going to link a video preview but I haven't finished the renders yet. Will send you something later tonight.
ReplyDeleteShow us another screenshot please. Like one full of action. Russel throwing the whale or the whale biting the pirate jet.
